Rare 19th century oak cylinder secretaire of Swedish origin.
The mahogany boasting a magnificent flamed grain.
The top with three cupboards and miniature fall flap writing enclosure with pigeon holes and inlaid satin birch fronted drawers.
The cylindrical fall flap enclosed retractable writing surface (with gradient adjustment mechanism), inlaid satin birch fronted miniature drawers and a miniature cupboard enclosed additional miniature drawers. In addition, there are ‘hidden’ drawers which open by pressing the inlaid brickwork to reveal a handle.
Below, four graduating drawers with dovetailed joining and raised on bracket feet.
Due to the weight and size, the piece dismantles to three sections for ease of movement.
