A super Regency rosewood dwarf or floor bookcase dating to c.1820 and in the Empire style. With an inverse breakfront top supported by four turned columns with brass capitals flanking a pair of cupboard doors inset with needlework panels, with bead and reel moulding to the frieze and doors. The two shelves to the centre section are adjustable and each cupboard also has a shelf, whilst the whole bookcase stands on a plinth base.
In very good condition with original locks to both doors, the needlework panels are designed to be removable from the back of the doors so could easily be changed if required. The interior of the cupboards and open section has the original black staining, there are no losses to the mouldings, the top does have some lighter and darker areas but the whole has been sympathetically repolished. Old shrinkage split on part of one shelf (shelf solid).
Please note the books and lights are not included in the price and are shown for display purposes only.

Important Note About Antiques
Antiques have long histories of daily use and as such, over time they can gain minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits, signs of old woodworm, lifts or losses to any veneer, which along with daily care and years of polishing go together to create individual character and patina. We describe any flaws in the items that fall outside of this bracket but cannot describe each of these marks separately. If anything, we tend to be over critical of items but if you are not sure please do not buy without clarifying or take the view that the only way to have it absolutely perfect is to have it fully and comprehensively restored.
Preferred payment method is bank transfer, we also accept payment by cheque, paypal and bankers draft. We cannot accept payment over the telephone.
You can arrange your own collection or the item can be delivered by carrier to UK mainland destinations south of Perth (Scotland)*. Deliveries are usually within 31 days of payment and the delivery cost is based on 1 man who will deliver to your ground floor main door only. If you are purchasing something large or heavy you must have someone available to help the driver unload and get it to your door. Discounts can be made for the delivery of multiple items to the same address.
Please note that the carrier we use is a small one van company experienced in moving antique furniture. It is not usually possible for them to give you a delivery date until they have built up enough deliveries to visit your region. Once your item has been collected we ask the carrier to contact you directly regarding delivery and we will also pass the carriers contact details to you so you can contact them if required.
*Separate quotes will be required for deliveries north of Perth, north and west of Loch Lomond and West of Taunton.
