Possibly more of a project piece, though completely functional as is, this is a small and shallow freestanding vintage Beech bookshelf, originally a cabinet that has been converted.
Possibly Edwardian, or a little later, the actual shell is a very solid short and shallow rectangle, measuring about 99cm long, 25.5cm deep, and 107cm tall, and is of high quality construction, with a rather nicely beveled front border as can be seen.
Originally, it had metal rails for fixing shelving in place, a seperating panel down the center, and these rails have been removed and replaced with thin wooden strips to hold in four short shelves.
It would be ideal for the smaller household, or for smaller volumes, and obviously further shelving could be added.
